            Courtney Andrew Durham
            (Andy)

I was born in Richmond, VA on November 21, 1962 to Courtney and Sue Durham.  I never lived in Richmond, VA; it had the closest Hospital (About 60 miles) from Fork Union, VA where my father taught School at Fork Union Military Academy.   Timothy Burleson Durham was born eleven months later (to the day); Mom always said it would have been easier if we had been twins.   I don’t remember anything that happened at Fork union because in 1964 we moved to Mexico, MO.  When I was only 2 years old our family moved to Mexico, Missouri, so my father could start his new job at Missouri Military Academy.

The first house we lived in was on Eastholm Street.  I was small but some of my earliest memories I have on Eastholm and Mexico.   I looked it up on Google earth (street View) and it is still standing.  The horses that grazed at the dead end are long gone but he House still stands.  I remember playing in the sand box in the backyard and being told not to leave the yard but I always wanted to go pet the horses. About the only time I left home was to go to church.  Mom and Dad joined First Baptist of Mexico and we went every Sunday Morning, and Night.  My earliest friends were made at church.  There was one that I never forgot, even when we moved away his name and a few others I never forgot and when my brother Past away he found me again and was the only one from Mexico I heard from. Thanks Scott.

A couple of years later we moved to 903 S. Olive, when I think of my childhood and growing up, it was here!  I looked it up on Google earth (street View), just yesterday and it is still standing it has changed a lot some one tore down the garage and added a second floor and expanded over the backyard I grew up in.  Sadly the tree in the front yard my brother and I used to climb and I broke a leg falling out of, is gone.  The ally is still there.  In the fall of 1968 I stated Kindergarten at Eugene Field and I walked to school that day and everyday for 6 years.  Back then Kindergarten was only a half day so I came home noon.   Then when I started 1st grade Tim walked with me.

Until recently there were only 7 people that I grew up with that I remember there names with but over the last few weeks have reunited with over 20 thanks to Facebook.   But the ones I never forgot were Tracy and Tina just up the street on olive then across the ally was Lorie up the street and across Boulevard was Mitch and also remembered Ricky, Kevin and Randy there were other but didn’t remember there names.
